My name is Michael Laderman, and I’m a lifelong Spice Seeker and world traveler.
Everywhere I go, I hunt for the best spicy sauces made by artisanal producers using the best local ingredients. When I find great ones, I bring them back for my friends to try — and they love them!
But I can only carry so much, and more and more people kept asking me to share my best finds with them. That’s why I created SpiceSeeker.com: so that all my friends and everyone else (including you) who loves finely crafted artisanal hot sauces can experience these amazing flavors for themselves.
I’ve traveled across Southeast Asia, Japan, South Asia, the Middle East, Europe, Latin America, Oceania and all over the United States in search of deliciousness, trawled small-town farmer’s markets and inquired at restaurants that make great sauces.
I’ve sampled hundreds of products (most of which didn’t make the cut), and discovered sauces made with vivid natural flavors, complemented but never dominated by ingredients like salt and vinegar. Some of them include passion fruit, yuzu, pickled plums, coconut, sesame, beets, or even Kona coffee, and all use great chilis, lovingly farmed by local growers.
You won’t find these small-batch, artisanal products at your local supermarket, and some of them have never been available except at one remote restaurant or farmer’s market – until now!
The producers whose sauces you will enjoy include an Iron Chef-winning restaurateur from Mexico City, an organic farmer in Maui and inspired sauce-makers from small towns in Japan.
